DAY 1, 10/18 (Wednesday): Los Angeles – Beijing
Meet with Ru-Lan at the Los Angeles International Airport. Depart for Beijing via Air China wide body jetliner.
DAY 2, 10/19 (Thursday): Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, we will meet the local guide and transport to the Jing Rui Hotel (*****).
DAY 3, 10/20 (Friday): Beijing
In the morning we will visit the Central Academy of Art and Design and meet the professors and visit the hand weaving studio. In the afternoon we will visit the Summer Palace where the last empress lived. We will have a boat ride and enjoy cruising on the Kunming Lake. We will stay at the Jing Rui Hotel.
DAY 4, 10/21 (Saturday): Beijing
In the morning we will visit China’s most famous landmark – the Great Wall, built by China’s first emperor Qin over 2000 years ago. On the way back we will stop by the thirteen Ming Tombs, burials for emperors and their families. We will go into these under ground palaces. We will stay at the Jing Rui Hotel.
DAY 5, 10/22 (Sunday): Beijing
In the morning we will go to Beijing’s most popular antique and craft market at Pan Jia Yuan. In the afternoon we will visit the Forbidden City, the palace for three Chinese dynasties from 1200 AD to 1900 AD. We will also visit the famous Tiananmen Square where numerous contemporary celebrations had taken place. We will stay at the Jing Rui Hotel.
DAY 6, 10/23 (Monday): Beijing – Zhang Jia Jie
Fly to Zhang Jia Jie Mountain in the west of Hunan province (in the mid-south of China). This marvelous natural phenomenon is more than 500 square miles. In 1992, the United Nations granted her the “World Natural Heritage” honor. We will meet the local guide upon our arrival. Stay at the Xiang Long Hotel (Local’s Best).
DAY 7, 10/24 (Tuesday): Zhang Jia Jie
In the morning we will take a cable cart ride to the top of the Tian Zi Mountain, and then take a bus to go to the Suo Xi ravine to see the beautiful landscapes and meet the local Tu minority. Stay at the Jiang Han Hotel (Local’s Best).
DAY 8, 10/25 (Wednesday): Zhang Jia Jie
A bus takes us to the Forest Park, Yellow Stone Village, than visit the Xiu Hua museum to see the local Tu and Miao minorities’ heritage. Stay at the Pi Ba Ravine Hotel (Local’s Best).
DAY 9, 10/26 (Thursday): Wang Village
Bus ride to the Wang Village to visit the local folk artists and hand weaving studios. Visit the Meng Dong River. Stay in Meng Dong Hotel (Local’s Best).
DAY 10, 10/27 (Friday): Zhang Jia Jie – Guilin
In the morning the bus will take us back to Zhang Jia Jie and then we will fly to Guilin – the most beautiful and elegant city in Guangxi province (in southern China). Stay at the Guan Guang Hotel (****).
DAY 11, 10/28 (Saturday): Guilin
We will cruse the elegant Li Jiang Ribver to relax and enjoy southern Chinese beauty and hospitality, and then visit Yang Shou City. Stay at the Guan Guang Hotel.
DAY 12, 10/29 (Sunday): Guilin – Zhuang Autonomous Region – Guilin
In the early morning the bus will take us to the minority Zhuang area to visit the local textile artists, and then return to Guiling the same day. Stay at the Guan Guang Hotel.
DAY 13, 10/29 (Monday): Guiling – Haikou
We will fly from Guilin to Haikou – the capital of the southern Chinese island province Hainan. Upon arrival we will meet with the local guide and visit the historic Wang Gong Ci temple. Stay at the Tai Hua Hotel (***).
DAY 14, 10/30 (Tuesday): Tongshi
A bus will take us to Tongshi City, the capital of the Miao Autonomous Region in Hainan. We will visit the Hainan Li Texitile Institution and the Minority Museum. Stay at the Tongshi Travel Mountain Villa Hotel (***).
DAY 15, 11/1 (Wedneday): Tongshi – Baisha – Tongshi
In the morning we will take the bus to Baisha to visit local folk artists in Miao Village and to watch Miao dancing. Stay at the Tongshi Travel Mountain Villa Hotel (***).
DAY 16, 11/2 (Thursday): Tongshi – Sanya
Drive to Sanya City in south of Hainan, a city with “Chinese Hawaii” reputation. There we will visit the famous Luhaitou Mountain and to enjoy the tropical scenery. Stay at the Sanya Mingzhu Hotel (***).
DAY 17, 11/3 (Friday): Sanya
Sightseeing in Sanya. Stay at the Sanya Mingzhu Hotel.
DAY 18, 11/4 (Saturday): Sanya – Beijing
Fly from Sanya back to Beijing. Stay at the Jingrui Hotel.
DAY 19, 11/5 (Sunday): Beijing – Los Angeles
Fly Air China back to Los Angeles. We arrive in Los Angeles on 11/5.
