ABOUT THE ARTIST
Leah Roff is a fine art photographer and small business owner who was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She studied Architecture and Design at Mesa College in San Diego, California; and has worked with several prominent architects and designers in both Albuquerque and San Diego over the course of her career.  She is currently a freelance artist and consultant providing service in a variety of specialties.

Ms. Roff’s photographic compositions express movement, tension and balance.  Pictures like Leah’s are not meant to convey a clear message.   Rather, they are designed to appeal first to the emotions and then the intellect.   Many pieces are total abstractions, inviting the viewer to give his/her imagination full rein.  Subjects lose their original identity as functional objects and when viewed through her camera lens become strangely beautiful studies of form, composition, texture and shadow.  All of her work is completely unretouched and unaltered, exactly as she sees it in the viewfinder.

Much of her work has a mysterious air, although, mystification is not the aim.  They achieve a goal that is not susceptible to exact definition by presenting abstract beauty that challenges visual perceptions; and offers a special way to release mundane objects from the bonds of realism. 

Pieces are individually conceived and produced by the artist.   However, Ms. Roff’s work can be custom-tailored.  Clients may work with the artist to create photographic presentations that are original and suited to the tastes and environments of each individual.  Whatever their content and style, Leah’s goal is to create in the viewer a feeling of wonder as well as aesthetic satisfaction.
