Judith Shaw, a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, has been interested in myth and culture all her life. This interest, combined with a deep spirituality, figures strongly in her work. She has traveled in Mexico, Central America, and Europe, and lived in Mexico and Greece. The passion and bright colors of these places have affected her palette and style. Judith has resided in New Mexico for the past eight years. The golden glow of the landscape is reflected in her paintings. She has developed a style uniquely her own which she calls "Mythic Expressionism". For the past few years, she has been working on a series inspired by the Sumerian myth of Inanna and other pieces dealing with body and soul as one whole.
