Biography
“I have
been painting ever since I could hold a crayon. Born into an artistic
family, I was introduced to the Masters at a young age. This exposure has
carried over into my careers as both a fine artist and an illustrator for
children’s picture books. As a fine artist, I draw from the works of John
S. Sargent, Diego Velasquez and the Impressionists. My interest is in the
fleeting effects of light and color. Using traditional methods in oil, I
aim to capture beautiful moments in our modern world.
In
2000, my wife and I moved to Albuquerque from Nantucket, MA. The
magnificent Southwest light has invigorated my painting. Coming from the
cool northeastern palette of Massachusetts, I find that New Mexico offers a
broad range of expression that is challenging and exciting.”
