STATEMENT:    I have been producing and selling my artwork to private collectors and commercial establishments since 1968.  My work using sticks with fiber construction began around 1979.  These early works reflected major spiritual and life changes.  Over the years I have continued to explore the use of sticks as a linear structure and as a way of breaking down the design into very basic elements.  I look forward to the restrictions and distortions created during the wrapping process when a two-dimensional design is transformed into a three-dimensional reality.  I am currently exploring thes concept in pastel by painting on pumice textured board.  Working outdoors allows me to have an immediate reaction on a two-dimensional plane to the light and colors of my surroundings.  My work reflects the landscapes and skies of the Southwest as well as my travels abroad.  I am inspired by my visual memories of light, color, patterns and new personal experiences.
